NYDC and how they impressed me

Went to Suntec dis evening to finish my "conquering".. didnt buy anything.... +blessed+ Heheee

Had dinner at NYDC. Thought the service recovery was rather good... so thought of commenting it in here.

The waiteress, a fillipino national couldnt really get our order initially.. so we have to repeat like 3 times? after which we waited for abt 35mins, and saw other table's food arrived before ours. Ben was quite hot liao.. but didnt lose his cool.. he politely asked the waiteress if our food is ready.

Dont know what happen to our order, the other waiteress have to retake our order and this time the food was served in 5 mins.. and piping hot. she explained that the fillipino is new and asked for forgiveness. We were quite alright about it..and didnt expect anything from the restuarant. Quite surprise that they actually gave us complementary soup.... well, frankly we didnt expect that..moreover, how many restaurants or rather service provider do actually practice service recovery...?? and that really changed our impression.

Although it doesnt really make alot of difference to me and to some customer out there on whether or not there's "extra" but then it tickles my mind.... More often than not, we always have to create a big hoooha over something small (if we think its unjustifiable) then some steps would be taken by the manager... in this case, nothing of our displeasure was spelt and the waiteress was given the empowerment to give complementary dishes... although the soup doesnt cost much to them, still.... it is all purely based on her own initiative...

See how a small step could make a customer little happier and comment on her blog?
At one point in time, we might undertake the role of being a server or the servee...in whichever context. So the point i wanna bring across in this two line is.... before u flare and make a hill of out a mole THINK! how does it feel to get scolded by someone u barely meet for a day and how venting yr anger wld eventually affect the person's day. I do have my fair share of complaining and outright showing my unhappiness towards the server. However, my
conscience is clear that i purely did it because he/she has a bad attitude... and the thing i cant stand abt is ones attitude at work.

My 2 cents worth...... :)
